BRONZE PINFIRE GUNS Over the last 15 years I have collected and studied Bronze Pinfire Guns.
They ranged from the large 12MM revolvers to as small as 5MM revolvers. Most of the Bronze Pinfire Guns
were 7MM revolvers and 7MM pepperboxes . The revolver shown below is one of the pieces from the collection.

Polish 7MM Bonze Pinfire Revolver made in the style of the Lefaucheux Model 1862 (patent 1862). This non-engraved revolver has
a 3.5-inch long barrel and has an over all length of 7.5 inches. There is no ejection rod and no place for one.
It may have at one time had a screwed on swing out ejector or may never had any ejector rod. Te revolver is in good working order
and the over all condition of this revolver is very good. The walnut wood grips are in very good condtion.
MARKINGS: The top of the barrel is marked with WITKOWSKI W PARYZA (spelling may not be correct - see photo above). I am told that in Poland during the 1860's and 1870's that they were not allowed to make firearms but could own one for another country. This revolver is marked that it was made in Paris. It was not marked in French but in Polish. Someone made the revolver in Poland and tried to hide it by adding the inscription to make it look like it was made out of the conutry. |
