Swords marked with LAUTERER were made by GEORGE LAUTERER and JAMES LAUTERER in 1875 (Some swords may have been manufactured later than 1875 but no record is available ). Very little information is available on these two makers other than they made society and regalia swords in Chicago IL. Photos below show a very high quality society sword made by George Lauterer. Most , if not all of the swords manufactured by Lauterer sword companies were society swords.
