Model 1836 Flintlock Pistol

Model 1836 Flintlock Pistol made by Asa Waters of Millbury Massachusetts and Robert Johnson of Middletown Connectcut from 1836 to 1844 with a total prodution quantity of 41,000.

This flintlock was an improved verison of the Model 1826 and was the last U.S. martial pistol producted in the flintlock ignition system. A significant quantity of the production was later converted (in the 1850's) to percussion. This model is often found with state militia markings and was used by both the north and the south during the American Civil War.
