Search inventory descriptions for word or part of word. If two words are entered, the result will list all inventory items containing either word or both words. The search program will search using part of a word.
Examples:
Japan will find all items with Japanese
India will also find Indian, Indiana and Indianaoplis
Numbers can be searched using word search. The program will search all descriptions, inventory numbers and cost. This is useful by looking up an item by its inventory number. Dates and cost can be search but results will yield other items.
Examples:
Searching for date 1850 will also find inventory number 21850 and cost $1850
Using word search for dates will search all description of items which will sometimes gives more results than using date search that uses only dates in item listing but the disadvantage is the search will result in some unwanted items. For cost, advanced cost search provides better search results than word search.
